Vegan Basics Cooking Class

We have created a special presentation / cooking demonstration tailored towards individuals who are exploring or are new to veganism and vegetarianism. We will

  • Demonstrate and taste simple, delicious recipes, with an emphasis on whole-foods, plant-based choices
  • Taste test vegan meat choices currently available
  • Provide complete recipes and shopping list for the cooking demo
  • Explain how to dine vegan at non-vegan restaurants
  • Share our favorite tips for shopping and eating vegan on a budget

Going vegan for the animals, the environment, your health -- whatever your reasons -- is easier than it has ever been before.

Leading the presentation will be Chris James and Tammy Lee, the co-founders of Bay Area Vegetarians. Together Tammy and Chris have over 50 years of vegan and vegetarian experience and advocacy between them, a long history of community building in the SF Bay Area, editors of the Ultimate Guide to Vegetarian Living in the Bay Area, and created over 50,000 vegan meals from recipes and pantry staples.

Please note, this class is priced at $5 to reflect our desire to make this information as freely available as possible while covering our costs for materials and expenses associated with the class.

Location:

Whole Foods, 3682 Bel Aire Plaza, Napa, CA 94558

Why RSVP?

RSVPs are requested for some events. This is typically the case when the event is held at a private home, if there is a limit on the number of participating, or the event organizer needs to know how many folks to expect. To RSVP, simply contact the event host by clicking on their name to send an email to them.

Public Transit and Carpooling

Plan your trip with this handy public transit tool from 511.org. Or use the main BAV mailing list (SFBAVEG) or forum to arrange a carpool.

For all events posted

You agree to participate at your own risk and expressly waive any and all liability on the part of Bay Area Vegetarians, its volunteers and its management.
