| Bobby G’s Pizzeria | One of the only places I've come across where you can get vegan pizza by the slice. The soy cheese was delicious, and they don't smother the pizza with too much cheese. Good, NY-style pizza with lots of topping choices and vegan options well marked on menu. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Berkeley. | 2007-11-30 |
| Mango Medley | The downside is that service can be very slow, even if the restaurant is almost empty -- it's run entirely by two people. But I think it's worth the wait, because the food is amazing. Recommended dishes are the spicy mango salad, curry with eggplant and roti, and tamarind tofu. Vegan dishes are marked on the separate vegetarian menu, and the server said some of the desserts are vegan too. | 2007-10-30 |
| Pizza Plaza | Really good pizza and an almost overwhelming number of vegan choices. They'll make a half-and-half pizza so you can try two different ones. I highly recommend the Greek Goddess. I'll be looking for excuses to go to the East Bay now so I can go here again. | 2007-02-21 |
| Kearny Street Pies | This is a wonderful addition to the financial district. I had their soup and pie special, and the soup was amazing -- an organic vegan carrot cashew soup. Good service and lots of vegan savory pie options. | 2006-11-01 |
| Saha | Great food & service. Several dishes are marked as vegan and many others can be made vegan. When we went they were out of the vegan dessert that was on the menu, so the chef made a special one for us. | 2006-01-04 |
| Cafe Gratitude | Food was excellent. But waiter wanted to know what we were grateful for before he'd leave the check, and was pretty aggressive about it. Some diners didn't seem to mind, but it made me uncomfortable. | 2006-01-04 |
| Feel Real Cafe | Wonderful food -- especially veggie burger and pancakes. Don't go there when you're in a rush, as the food can take a while to arrive. You can also find some of their baked goods at Other Avenues. | 2006-01-04 |
